MALIBU, CA - May 2, 2001 - In a nod to mothers of all ages on Mother's Day, visionary entrepreneur David Krieff brings you THE SILVER FOXES, a team of celebrity parents determined to change America's vision of both parenting and aging. The Silver Foxesú parents -- Nikki Robbins (Tony's Mom), Sal Pacino (Al's Dad), Jenny Crawford Moluf (Cindy's Mom), Patsy Swayze (Patrick's Mom), Tony Tarantino (Quentin's Dad) and Christine Johnson (Magic's Mom) - star in their own workout video led by celeb Stefanie Powers and they tour the country via media and personal appearances, offering advice and positive role models for parents 50+.
"Parenting doesn't end when the kids are shipped off to college or marry. It's a lifetime endeavor and the most rewarding and valuable one possible," notes Krieff, himself a father and a 10-year Malibu resident. "The Silver Foxes stand for Mother's Day 2001 celebrating mothers of all ages."
The Silver Foxes' web site, www.silverfoxes.com, provides valuable information for mind, body and spirit, plus the opportunity to participate in a growing and active community of people 50+, which now includes the enormous Baby Boomer population. By introducing The Silver Foxes POWER PILATES video, Krieff promoted the group's stance for senior fitness and vitality. The video was the idea of Krieff's wife, Carroll, mother of their three boys and one of Malibu's top pilates instructors.
"Whether they're playing sports or just walking up the stairs, people always comment on what an amazing difference they start to notice after the first few workouts," reports actress and lifelong dancer Powers. "What makes this system truly special is how it builds strength from the inside out."
This Mother's Day, The Silver Foxes' moms will be heard on radio and TV around the country. On this day, they are the celebrities, not their famous offspring.
"It is an indescribable feeling to get letters from people who thank the Silver Foxesú for improving and even saving their lives. People seem to relate well to the celebrity parents as extensions of themselves and their own families," noted David Krieff, whose own grandfather, Morris, (now 100 years old) inspired the Silver Foxesú concept. "Mother's Day is a great opportunity to celebrate what a terrific thing a person has done when they've raise a child to adult manhood or womanhood."
