Age Reversal Made Easy

What if there was a drug that was guaranteed to reverse aging, would you take it? And what if that drug had no side effects. Of course you would take it. But does such a drug really exist? The answer is yes and the drug is called food.

You see aging is all about hormones and the food you eat will have a dramatic effect on your body's hormones for next four to six hours. But the door can swing both ways. Food can either be your greatest ally to reverse aging, or it can dramatically accelerate the aging process. In essence you have to begin treating food as if it were a drug taken at the right dosage and at the right time.

For the past 20 years, I have devoted my research to understanding the precise interplay of hormones generated by the foods we eat. My work lead to the creation of the Zone Diet. Briefly stated, the Zone Diet is a lifelong program of changing the balance of protein and carbohydrate in the meals you like to eat in order to keep certain hormones, such as insulin, within a zone; not too high, and not too low. If you can achieve that goal, you have the anti-aging drug everyone is searching for.

Many people think of aging as a consequence of decreasing levels of hormones, but in reality many hormones (and in particular insulin) actually increase with age. The importance of this fact is that many of the chronic diseases associated with aging such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes, depression, and arthritis are directly or indirectly related to increases in insulin production. The Zone Diet is the only proven dietary program that can reduce excess insulin and maintain this key hormone in an appropriate zone consistent with a longer and healthier life.

Although I have written many books about Zone science, it can be summed up in two words: balance and moderation. You are told that eating lots of grains (i.e. bagels, pasta, and rice) are the keys to a healthier life. Nothing could be further from the truth. You are told that fat should be avoided at all costs. Again nothing could be further from the truth.

Like most Americans you are probably totally confused as to what to eat, and more importantly why. Unless you understand how to use your diet as a powerful drug to control insulin (and thus reverse aging), your quality of life will be much less than it possibly could. And what is the benefit of living longer if you are not living better?

In the months to come, I will be writing more detailed articles about how you can use the Zone Diet to treat and prevent particular conditions such as heart disease, cancer, and others. But how do you enter the Zone? I suggest starting with my book, Zone Perfect Meals in Minutes. This book was written for my diabetic patients as a how-to manual for the Zone Diet. It contains a very concise description of the Zone Diet, but more importantly a simple step-by-step method of adjusting your diet to make it more hormonally correct. Does it work? Our clinical data presented at a recent American Diabetes Association meeting demonstrated that within six weeks every clinical parameter associated with adult-onset diabetes had reversed following the Zone Diet. Why that is important is because those are the same clinical parameters that must be reversed to increase longevity. Reversing the aging process is easy, but it requires a minimal lifestyle change. You have to begin thinking of the food you eat with the same respect that you treat any prescription drug. If you are willing to make this change then age reversal is incredibly easy.
